3rd edition of Authentic Flamenco by the Royal Opera of Madrid in Vancouver

The Royal Opera of Madrid, Spain’s major performing arts institution, returns to Vancouver with the 3th edition of “Authentic Flamenco,” a traditional Spanish flamenco show with award-winning artist Ángeles Gabaldón.
After performing in numerous cities across North and South America, Authentic Flamenco returns for its third Canadian tour, stopping in several cities nationwide. On this international tour, the Royal Opera of Madrid presents a program featuring established Flamenco artists and young promises, reaffirming the institution’s dedication to promoting and safeguarding the Flamenco legacy, emphasizing its three core disciplines of singing, guitar playing, and dancing.
Ángeles Gabaldón
Born in Seville in 1974, Gabaldón is a distinguished flamenco dancer known for her dynamic fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. Trained under renowned flamenco masters, she has received multiple national awards recognizing her contributions to the art form. Her career includes performances at prestigious venues such as the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Through her work, Ángeles Gabaldón integrates technical precision with expressive depth, offering performances that reflect both the heritage and evolving nature of flamenco.
Teatro Real
Teatro Real (Royal Opera of Madrid) is an independently-run public foundation with significant social involvement in its governing and funding bodies, and the participation –at state, regional and local level– of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Regional Government of Madrid and Madrid City Council. It is deemed Spain’s major institution for the musical and performing arts, and is the leading national opera house, with significant and growing global outreach.
