This year Sounds from Spain brings the crème de la crème of Spanish indie to Canadian Music Week for your listening pleasure. The following artists will be showcased: Bigott, Furguson, Guadalupe Plata, L.A., Quique Gonzalez, Za!

This is a great opportunity to catch the much-hyped Bigott, a spontaneous, quirky artist whose good vibes and hilarious film-clips have brought him critical acclaim in Spain. Going beyond postpunk, Furguson don't hold back on their energetic and experimental melodies, while L.A. pay homage to The Beatles and The Who while creating a uniquely Spanish take on modern pop-rock.

For fans of improvisation, the electrifying performance of Za! will be a major highlight, and blues lovers will be blown away by Guadalupe Plata. Quique Gonzalez brings the folk and intimacy loved by Spanish audience to CMW, treating us to traditional Mexican and Spanish tunes as well as requests from the audience.

For those craving even more Spanish music, there will be a final showcase on Saturday, March 24th at Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St.) from 7.30pm onwards. This will be your last chance to see Bigott, Furguson, L.A., Za!, Guadalupe Plata and Quique Gonzalez up-close and personal.
